Bonnie Estabrook - Executive Director

Bonnie has led JOY  as the Executive Director since 2017 and has been part of the JOY Leadership Team since 2006. She's been married to Pat for over 30 years and has three grown children and five grandchildren, all living in Bismarck. Family is very important to her, so much so that her family meets for Sunday dinner every week, just to hang out and share life.

Bonnie likes to joke that she is a jack of all trades and master of none. Her interests span motorcycle riding and snowmobiling to cross country skiing, photography and traveling. Bonnie has also operated a number of businesses (real estate, coffee shop, daycare) and has volunteered in many Christian ministries over the last 20 years. When it comes to putting her skills to use, she enjoys any role that involves settings up systems, procedures and policies.

Fran Dwelle - Founder and President

Fran Dwelle is the Founder and President of JOY (formerly known as JOY Internaitonal). Prior to moving to Bismarck in 1997, she and her husband were missionaries in eastern Europe where she founded JOY in Vienna, Austria. 

Fran loves God and life and cherishes each day. She enjoys helping women fulfill their purpose and discover their gifts and strengths. In her spare time she enjoys playing piano, reading, cooking Italian, walking, or having coffee with a friend.

Royann has lived in North Dakota her whole life and is a prairie girl at heart. Recently moving to a new home north of Bismarck, blessings of beautiful sunsets and the meadowlark calling are now a daily part of her life. She also recently retired from the 8 to 5 grind, and is awash in pursuing her interests of writing, reading, volunteering and lifelong learning. She thoroughly is enjoying her free time to participate in Bible and book studies.

Royann and her husband are empty nesters, having seen their three sons take flight to three different states, which brings many travel opportunities. She is also thrilled at the blessing of becoming a new grandmother.

Kaci Bower - Social Media/Website Coordinator

Kaci has been a remote volunteer with JOY since 2010. Despite never living in North Dakota and attending just one JOY Breakfast, she likes being connected to a ministry that is focused on "helping women take one step closer to Christ, and one step closer to true joy." (And her mother founded the ministry, so there's that!)

Kaci works in the field of digital marketing strategy and helps businesses figure out what's working and not working with their current plans and processes. She currently lives in Cincinnati with her husband and two daughters.

Jessica was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota. With each passing year, her love for her local community continues to grow! In 2015, her passion for Jesus and love for His people led her to get involved in the local JOY Breakfast. Once introduced to the JOY Volunteers and experiencing their genuine love for each other, the community, and their heart for God, it was apparent that she was right where she was supposed to be. As a member of the JOY Leadership team, Jess is so thankful for the opportunity to be surrounded by such a rich and inspiring group of godly women on mission for Jesus!

In her spare time, Jess enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves to learn and be active in the community. She is currently involved in an internship program offered through her local church and is a member of their events and outreach ministry. It is her heart's desire and her life mission to become all that God has created her to be and to take everyone to heaven with her that she can!

Bonnie Dirk - Hostess Coordinator

Bonnie Dirk has been married to Gary for 28 years. They have three daughters and seven grandchildren, all residing in Bismarck, Beulah and Mandan. She and her husband live north of town, on six acres of land in the rolling hills.

Seven years ago, Bonnie retired from the medical field and now works part-time in a concrete construction company that she and her husband co-own. Her free time is spent gardening, canning, traveling, reading, camping, and attending her grandkids' sporting events. She also regularly walks a couple miles a day, courtesy of her two dogs!

Bonnie has been involved with the JOY Leadership team for many years as the Hostess Coordinator. As she puts it, "It truly is a passion of mine because of the mission statement of JOY. I love women, food and coffee. Meeting new women through Bible study and JOY makes me complete."

Marcia is the mother of three and the Nana to seven exceptional, sweet children. She's been married to Patrick for 45 years. She is also a dog lover and has a yellow British lab who answers to the name of Sunny Boy.

Jenny got involved with JOY when she checked a box at a JOY Breakfast. She didn't expect to be called, but she is thankful for that call! Her joy is her family:  her husband, Jon, and two amazing grown daughters. Jenny loves friendships and ministry with women, road trips with her husband, flea markets, and decorating. She is a full-time RN, but always has time to connect with friends over coffee!

Katie Logan - Java JOY Coordinator

Katie Logan is married to Kevin, and they have four amazing children. Originally from NE Wyoming, they have lived in Bismarck for the last 6 years. Katie works as a Nurse and Birth Doula, following her passion to help and comfort women during pregnancy and labor. She and her family attend church at Capital Christian Center and enjoy family game nights and camping.

Nancy Rumney - Admin/Volunteer Appreciation Team

Nancy Rumney is the mother of Katie Logan, our Java JOY Coordinator, and grandma of Jacob, Jackson, Jayden and Jeremiah. She loves creating through drawing, painting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, theatre, and interior design. She was married 17 years and has been single for 20 more.
