JOY Volunteers

At JOY, we believe that each woman possesses unique talents and gifts. We encourage women to serve in areas that hold value and meaning for them, and we actively invest in helping women develop in these areas.
 
Over 25 volunteer roles are available to address a variety of time commitments and areas of interest.

Roles and Descriptions

JOY Breakfast Roles
  • JOY Breakfast Hostess: facilitate conversation at your table and hand out information
  • JOY Breakfast Greeter: greet women when they arrive
  • Church Rep: act as main point of contact for your church regarding JOY Breakfast
  • Drama/Music: serve at a JOY Breakfast with a dramatic or musical selection
  • Facilities Arranging: book facilities for JOY Breakfast
  • Decorating: decorate tables for JOY Breakfast
  • Door Prizes: donate a door prize
  • Audio/Visual Tech
Java JOY Roles
  • Java JOY Hostess: greet and mingle
  • Java JOY Publicity:  write up event copy and hang posters around town
  • Java JOY Technical:  take pictures and video record the speaker
  • Java JOY Speaker: share your story to help inspire and encourage women
  • Java JOY Oversight:  organize themes and speakers for Java JOY events
Connection Group Roles
  • Home Host: host a small group at your home
  • Small Group Leader: lead a small group
Support Roles
  • Prayer Team: join other women in praying for JOY
  • Leadership: help define and execute JOY's strategy
  • Equipping/Training: run training workshops for JOY Volunteers and JOY Leaders
  • Accounting: do bookkeeping with QuickBooks
  • Clerical Help: assist in a variety of clerical tasks
  • Telephoning: make calls to get information, ask for help, give a reminder, etc.
  • Word Processing: format Word documents in a quality manner
  • PowerPoint: design slides for JOY Breakfasts and meetings
  • Database: maintain Access and online database
  • Financial Donation: contribute financially
Publicity and Communications Roles
  • Writing/Editing: write promotional copy
  • Publicity: distribute JOY event information across various channels
  • Desktop Publishing: design posters and brochures for JOY events
  • Graphic Design: design graphical elements for JOY events
  • Photography/Videography: photograph or take video of JOY events
  • Web Content Development: advise on and/or create content for website
  • Facebook Participant: join in the Facebook conversations
  • Blogger: write for the JOY Blog
