Five Reasons to Invite a Friend to the JOY Breakfast
February 13, 2015By Heather Brostrom

The JOY Breakfast happens every Spring - and we encourage you to make every effort to attend it. We also want to encourage you to invite a friend. Here are five reasons to do so:

1. "A friend loves at all times and a brother (or sister) is born for adversity." (Proverbs 17:17)

These are trying times for women as we juggle many demands. Invite your friend to set aside her duties and enjoy a morning of rest, reflection and refreshing in the Lord.

2. "As iron sharpens iron, so one (wo)man sharpens another." (Proverbs 27: 17)

Sometimes the mundane routine of life can leave us feeling dull. Great fellowship and our powerful anointed speaker, Carey Scott, can reawaken a passion for the Lord and sharpen our spiritual senses.

3. "Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart, and the pleasantness of one’s friend springs from his earnest counsel." (Proverbs 27:9)

Your friend will be surrounded by a ballroom chock-full of lovely smelling ladies giving off the fragrance of Christ. The promise of spring will be in the air. And you both will leave with godly counsel, namely great nuggets of truth to apply to your life.

4. "Two are better than one..." (Ecclesiastes 4:9)

Most everything in life is more enjoyable with a friend beside you to share in the experience. (There are a few exceptions involving annual OB check-ups and mammograms, but you get the picture.)

Plus, not only will your spiritual tank get filled, but so will your bellies with a warm, satisfying breakfast and Ramkota’s famous, melt-in-your-mouth popovers. YUM!

5. "Do to others as you would have them do to you." (Luke 6:31)

Wouldn’t you want to be whisked away from the piles of dirty laundry and the bathrooms crying out for attention? I know I would! The JOY Breakfast is a great alternative to your                                          friend’s usual Saturday morning rituals.

JOY Breakfast tickets are available until March 9th. We can't wait to see you and friend there. You will experience fresh faith, new hope and real love!

Heather Brostrom has been a Christian since she was a teenager. She has suffered with depression for all of her adult life and wonders if some day she will have a unique opportunity to share her story of hope and perseverance. She heartily believes that Jesus has been good to her, showing her that life can still be blessed even through adversity and trials. Read more articles by Heather.
